Services

Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy aims to restore or strengthen the body’s movement and function. Based on the patient’s situation and needs, various treatment methods are used to reduce pain, improve function, and prevent injuries.

Group Classes/Courses
We offer several group classes and courses, including a Parkinson’s group, osteoarthritis school, and various training sessions in collaboration with MOVA Fitness Center. The groups provide professional guidance and social support to promote health and well-being.

Muscle therapy
Muscle therapy helps release tight and stiff muscles and connective tissue, and can contribute to pain relief and increased mobility.
By combining different techniques, the treatment can be tailored to your needs to achieve the best possible results.

Lymphatic drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage is a specialized treatment that stimulates the lymphatic system to promote fluid drainage in the body and reduce swelling. The method helps improve circulation, strengthen the immune system, and relieve discomfort.
Treatment methods

Medical training therapy
Medical Exercise Therapy is an effective and safe form of treatment in which you exercise under the guidance of a physiotherapist, with the goal of strengthening the body, reducing pain, and restoring function. The training program is individually tailored and developed based on your needs and goals. This treatment is suitable for both acute injuries and long-term conditions, providing you with the tools needed for lasting improvement.

Joint mobilization
Joint mobilization is a gentle manual therapy technique aimed at improving mobility and reducing joint pain. Through slow, controlled movements within a safe range of motion, the joint capsule, connective tissue, and receptors are stimulated, which can increase circulation and reduce muscle tension.
Joint mobilization can be beneficial for conditions such as neck, shoulder, and back pain, as well as after injuries or surgery, with the goal of restoring normal function and movement.

Stretching and mobility training

Kinesio-/sportstaping
Taping is used to support muscles and joints, reduce pain, and promote movement. Kinesio tape is elastic and provides support without restricting motion, while sports tape is firmer and used for stabilization in acute injuries. It is effective both during activity and as part of rehabilitation.

Shockwave therapy
Shockwave therapy is a modern, non-invasive method used to reduce pain and promote healing in muscles and tendons. The treatment works by sending high-energy pressure waves into the affected area, which stimulates blood flow and the body’s natural repair processes. It is commonly used for conditions such as tendinitis, heel spurs, tennis elbow, and long-lasting muscle tension.

Physical massage
Physical massage massage is a targeted form of massage that reduces muscle tension, increases blood circulation, and promotes recovery. The treatment can help relieve pain and improve mobility in muscles and joints, and is tailored to individual needs and conditions.

Connective tissue treatment
Connective tissue therapy is a manual technique that releases tension and restrictions in the body’s connective tissue and fascia. When the tissue becomes softer and more flexible, it can improve mobility, reduce pain, and increase circulation.
This treatment is particularly effective for stiffness and reduced mobility, scar tissue or old injuries, and long-term muscle and joint complaints.

Suspension training
Suspension training activates the core muscles and improves stability through functional exercises performed in unstable slings. This provides effective strength training and control, and is well suited for rehabilitation, injury prevention, and performance enhancement.

Trigger point therapy
Trigger point therapy is a targeted method that focuses on releasing tight muscle knots, also known as “trigger points.” These points can cause local pain or refer pain to other areas of the body. Using pressure and specific techniques, the treatment can help reduce pain and muscle tension, improve mobility, and prevent recurring problems.

Collaboration with Ny Giv Senteret
and Sidsel Faye Warberg
NY GIV Senteret collaborates closely with Avansia klinikken.
At NY GIV Senteret, we focus on both Physical and Mental training – we help you find the form of exercise that suits you and your situation.
For strength training, our approach includes Redcord suspension training, free weights, balance pads, and bodyweight exercises.
For Mental Training/Coaching, we use the Den Beste Deg (“The Best You”) model. Coaching is most effective when two factors are present: you are willing to grow, and there is a gap between where you are now and where you want to be. That is all the coach needs to help you solve problems, create and implement a new action plan, and build the life you truly want to live.
In Breathing Guidance, we help you become aware of your breathing patterns. The way you breathe affects both you and your health. Changing your breathing habits can improve your health, lower stress levels, provide better sleep, and help you cope with difficult situations.
