Neck and back pain
What are Neck and Back Problems?
Neck and back problems are among the most common causes of reduced quality of life and sick leave in Norway. The pain may appear suddenly or develop gradually over time due to prolonged sitting, repetitive work, or stress. Many experience stiffness, radiating pain, headaches, or discomfort that makes daily functioning difficult.
Common conditions include lumbago, disc herniation, spinal stenosis, stress fractures, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute back pain ("lumbago with sciatica"). Regardless of the cause, it is important to take the pain seriously and get a thorough assessment early, to prevent the problem from worsening.
Examination
With us, you will meet physiotherapists experienced in treating both acute and long-term neck and back problems. We always begin with a thorough examination and discussion to understand the underlying causes of your symptoms and how they affect your daily life. Based on this, we create an individual treatment plan tailored to clinical findings and personal goals.
Treatment
Treatment may include different approaches, such as joint mobilization, muscular therapy, specific exercises, stretching, and movement guidance. Many benefit from combining active rehabilitation with manual therapy and increased awareness of ergonomics and load management. For long-lasting or recurring problems, we often work on stability training, postural muscles, and movement patterns to achieve lasting improvement.
